In partnership with the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), School Leader Lab is pleased to announce a new cohort of the highly selective AP Leadership Academy Cohort (APLA). These 20 individuals join the ever-growing SLL community, which is designed to support school leaders in creating inclusive, high-performing learning environments that foster growth and excellence for all students.
AP Leadership Academy is a 10-month cohort designed to develop DCPS Assistant Principals who are in their third year and beyond. By focusing on adaptive, equity-centered, and emotionally intelligent leadership skills, the program retains and strengthens current Assistant Principals while building a robust pipeline of BIPOC leaders for future opportunities.
Throughout this experience, leaders will:
- Craft and communicate a compelling leadership vision and aligned habits of leadership.
- Address and make progress on complex adaptive challenges aligned to DCPS strategic priorities.
- Develop new habits and tools to increase equity practices in schools.
